CDR and MP3 options
I'm hoping for some advice here. As some of you may know, I have posted two or three times already about how my CD changer will not play CDR's acceptably. I know the CDR's are fine as they play in many other players with no problems. It seems I have a few options. I can try and buy a used corvette changer and hope it works better than mine(as some seem to play CDR's without problems) or I can try to have mine repaired thinking the laser may be slightly out of alignment causing regular CD's to play okay but not CDR's Or
I can go with some type of solution that will play MP3's as that will work fine too. Ideally I would like a solution that is cost effective and that will let me use the stock headunit controls and changer cable. I'm open to all suggestions. I know I could rip out the system and start from scratch, but I really don't want to bother with that. Being a stereo installer, I know the hassle and the system is good enough that I don't really want to bother yet.
Thanks in advance.
Rob
Used changers are always around. I have one sitting around..lol. You can do a MP3 player through an AUX input. You just need a GMASX or something like that to give you the input.
Now as far as the aux input, if I hook up an MP3 player, I need to use the controls on the MP3 player right? is there not a player where I can use the cdchanger controls? That would really be ideal.
Thanks
Ther dealer suggested that I fully load the changer for some reason, but that did not help. What I did was take my cartridge and place it in another C-5 changer and it worked well. I told the dealer and they removed the changer and sent it for repair. I'm bringing it in on Thursday for a reinstall and I'll let you know if that fixed the problem.
If a CDR plays in the head unit and in other car changers there is no reason that we shouldn't insist that it play in the $600.00 option we paid for.
