Has anyone purchased the molded acrylic rear or front letters from West Coast Corvettes? If so, how do you like them and how are they holding up? Any comments appreciated.
Check out SSinserts. I looked at your sig and you will be happy with the SSinserts. High quality and they fit flush with the rear facia. They also look good on the front filler plate.
The SS letters are tops, some have installed the red "brakelight" looking letters, IMO the "acrylic" letters are not very attractive (no offense to those that have them ) Others have put vinyl letters or even painted the color of choice in the area!
Here's my Brakelight Red Acrylic letters. Been on for about 2 months now, no problems so far. I have gotten quite a few compliments from fellow Vette owners when they see it in person.
I think on white, they are the only way to go. The SS inserts would not look good on a light colored car in my opinion.
I have them on both of my C5s and I think they are the best looking out there if you are looking for colored letters. They come with an adhesive enhancer that is real sticky. Be sure and clean up the adhesive enhancer residue afterwards with denatured alcohol or some Goo-Gone. It is near impossible to wipe it on without getting it on the surrounding areas. Be sure and get the letters positioned right the first time because they are stuck good. I hope this helps you.
Just so ya know, the red Brakelight letters are "domed" similar to the C5 flag emblems (have rolled edges) and fit flush, where regular acrylic letters are bold, sharp and stick out from the car about 1/4" or so.
Actually, there is a company that makes the "domed" letters in any color including chrome, they are similar to the bralelight red style emblems.

The break-lite letters, for me, at least, come dangerously close to the "R" word. No offense to anyone.
I've got the flexible, "domed", vinyl letters. I went Carbon Fiber, though. Hard to see in the sig and I can't find a pic of a close up.
At first I was disappointed to see two tiny little plastic pouches full of letters (front & back), considering the cost (around $60 each end), but once installed I was very happy. I forget the actual name but I'm certain I got them from Eckler's. Check their catalog, I couldn't find them online.
And I've hit them with full force at the high-pressure wash and they don't move once installed.
Also have the Brake Light Red letters from Mid America and they're epoxy not acrylic. Much more expensive at $60 a set. I was going to get the SS, but on black these are perfect.
What would look good on a torch red car? I am not sure the brakelight red shows up much. What do you think about stainless or carbon fiber?
What else would work ? thanks

I have Stainless Steel on Torch Red and it looks great!

I ordered these from Mid America and expect them today or tomorrow. I also considered the SS but these are going on white. Now that I have seen them on the white one above, I think I made the right choice, for me anyway.

They are very high quality letters. I had the Brakelight Red ones on my silver vert and now have the Carbon Fiber ones on my Millennium Yellow vert. Before purchasing the Brakelight Red letters, I had red acrylic letters and IMO they sucked. Hard plastic and they stuck out. They were cheap ($12.99) so I didn't have a problem with tossing them after a couple of months.

I have the white acrylic ones now and I am going to take them off becaues I don't like the way they stick out either,,from a distance they look great but up close
I have the acrylic "chrome" letters. They look fine in my opinion and have held up very well for 9 months. They do not, however, fit flush with the body. Eventually I will change them to the SS inserts. They are an inexpensive alternative if you want to go that way.
Has anybody noticed a difference between the SS letters from one vender to another? Corvettes of Houston seem to have the cheapest, $55 delivered when ordered though ebay. Are these the same quality as those from SS Inserts?
I purchased my black acrilic 3-D Letters from the Corvette Forum Store for $19.99, they were easy to install and look great, I've had them on for about four weeks with no problems.
