Default Source For New Front Spring Jack Bolts

Went to my local Chevy dealer this AM. Wanted to buy two front spring "jack bolts"...the ones used to raise and lower the front end. This is for my 2000 vert.

They're not sold separately...only as part of the ENTIRE front spring assembly. The cost? Approx. $600.00 +/- depending on the spring.

I was surprised that they're not sold separately. What happens when the rubber ends wear...or when you cut the rubber to lower the front and want to return to a "stock" height?

Where can I buy a pair of new spring jack bolts? Carlisle is coming in a few weeks, and I'm sure I can find a nice used pair there, BUT they have to be available somewhere. Checked the catalogs and also checked all the Forum online vendors. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Chuck

Adjust the bolts down.

The factory setting of the bolt is about midway in the adjustment range. This means from the stock setting, the bolt could be turned down more to raise the car higher than stock if you wanted.
After cutting the bushings off...you can turn the bolt down until you have only 1 exposed thread above the spring...this should put the car back to approx stock height. You only really lose the ability to raise it higher than stock with the missing bushing.

Hardbar does make some replacement front bolts with removable delrin bushings. They are designed to lower the car slightly more than you can acheive with the stock bolts for those not wishing to cut their bushings.
You may want to ask them if the car can be set at stock height with their bolts, as they appear to be shorter and might have less of an adjustability range.

Hardbar sells an aftermarket lowering set they developed for $139. The front bolts alone are $59.
