2002 model recall

Guys, I recieved a recall noticed today in regards to ECL ( electronic column lock ). I just wonder if all you guys with 2002 model have already recieve this notice or have this kind of problem with ECL malfunction prior to recall. They said that a crash can happen when the steering column lock during acceleration.

I just got mine today. I will probably pass on this repair since all they do is reflash the PCM to disable the fuel pump if the column locks.

According to the notice, they will also verify that there is adequate lock plate clearance and if necessary, replace the lock plate..this is for manual transmission which i have.

Just go buy a column lock bypass (see sticky thread in General) and forget about it!

I also received the recall notice today for my 2004 Z06. They must be recalling all years.

That is what I did back in March. The other thing I like about the CLB is when I have the car on jack stands I can work on the front wheels / brakes with out having the key in the ignition and still turn the wheels.
