Default Problems installing GM Bra

I know this topic has come up a number of times. I've downloaded instructions that someone on this forum has posted. It states that the securing clips have to be removed if you use the supplied screws that come with bra. I don't want to remove the securing clips and so I want to find a compatable screw that has the same thread on it as the origanal screw that you're supposed to remove but with the snap on top. Can I get this at any hardware store? I think it's so stupid that GM provides screws that don't have the same thread so you have to remove the clips in between the fender well and the fender so that you can fit the plug in the hole that the supplied screws screw into. I hope this makes sense.

I just got mine at the local marine supply store. If you can't find any, let me know, I'll send you some.

I didn't remove anything..used the screws that came with the first GM bra 4+ years ago....no problems...some people here get way to excited over this crap...I also added 1 more screw/snap in the wheel well so I can use my C5 solutions bra.

Hey Wildcat99,

Thanks for the reply. I went to a hardware store and the salesman told me that they did not have any but to go to marine store. I went to one and sure enough, they had the screws I was looking for. They were a little shorter than the originals but they seemed to work fine. I now have my bra on and it looks great! Thanks for the help!

[QUOTE=pewter99]I didn't remove anything..used the screws that came with the first GM bra 4+ years ago....no problems QUOTE] You can use the clips if you have plain screws; you remove them for the rubber insert screws.
