Default Seat change

I would like to change out the seats in my Z06, since they just don't provide enough bolstering for the track. I am considering the VE sport seats and was wondering if these would provide enough bolstering when used with a harness?

I would like to keep the car somewhat stock looking, that is why I am considering the VE sport converstion. If they do not work that well, I may consider the Caravaggio.

Please advise,

Chris

If you like the looks of the seats otherwise, you might try what I did if you have an auto upolstery(I spell that right?) guy nearby. I had one add padding to the sides, bottom and lumbar area of my 02 Z seats and it made a world of diff with the harness set up. That after my son and I had taken the car up to Thunder Hill awhile back and we both awakend the next day with sore everything

I had Ken King at VE do the recover and rebolster at the same time. It does cost a few bucks, but it is a Vette and you should do the best to make yourself happy with the way it feels to you.

Hey you sat in a new C-6 yet. Those seats are awesome and have good lateral bolster support. I'm wondering if GM has put it's price list out for C-6 seats? Do they have the same seat bolt attachment pattern. I would almost beat my check that they will bolt right in. not much in the cockpit has changed per the layout. Just my two cents

I was thinking the same thing about the C6 seats. I hope they will bolt right in. Not that they will be cheap. But, to have a seat with nice bolstering and retain the factory adjustability .

I have the VE sport seats and use a B/K harness bar and simpson belts-works perfectly, has lots of comfort and support on the track and looks OEM when I am not on the track

If I were made of money I'd have a set of Caravaggios in my car now... they're awesome!

I changed my drivers seat to a racing seat. Saved about 40 lbs too. It took a while to get use to the new seat as there are no springs in the seat so I feel every bump in the road Now that I have the racing seat in and ajusted it is easy to swap in and out with the stock seat.

But have thigh, rib and shoulder support now. This weekend will be the first time on the track with the new seat.

That's the best way to do it IMO. The Caravaggio's are nice, but after talking to someone that has them for the street, he says that they aren't optimal for track use. He still swaps out for a real race seat because of the pass throughs (and position of the pass throughs) The Caravaggio's are just a great looking and expensive performance street seat IMO.

Quality takes time, I waited a couple of months for the setup Ken made for me and the wait is worth the results.
