I had the same thing happen. My service guy told me that you can replace the rocker panel but it is very time consuming and expensive. He suggested that I just get the area repaired and re-painted. That's the route I'm gonna take. Good luck.
Same thing happened to me. $45 for touchup paint and you can't tell the scratches (well, gouges in my case) are even there without looking really hard.
I have a gouge as well, must be normal, I am buying some touch up paint and be done with it. Likely it could happen again. Luckily down low and you are the only 1 who know it was there.
I ran over a high curb in a tight parking lot and cracked the right rocker panel severely.
The body shop wanted to replace, I disagreed as the entire side of the car (rear bumper, rear fender & door) and a lot of the interior has to be removed and the panel is epoxied to the frame.
They repaired and installed ZO6 brake ducts during the repair.
Perfect job, less than $900 for the repair, installation of the brake ducts and removal of the body side mouldings.
