Went to buy Sunoco 94 octane yesterday. IT's GONE ! (at least in northern Maryland & Delaware) Now they're selling 93 octane for the 94 octane price. Got some double talk about low sales. Low sales bullship ! Just more profit in selling 93 octane at 94 octane price ! They even have these fancy/glossy handouts talking about "Same great QUALITY". Just double talk play on words !
I Politely (well almost politely) told them that I would not frequent their establishment, ever, in the future since I could purchase 93 octane at any other station of my choice for 15 cents a gallon less. I was suprised that the owner seemed genuinely startled & concerned that I would not be back again. (I'm a regular & frequent customer) Apparently most of his customers hadn't even remarked about the switch. Sure wish I could find a station that stocks the 100 octane unleaded (Cam II I think) Crap !!!

why would you want to use 100 octane
if your car is not knocking (engine pinging with 93) or even 91. why ? ?
the only thing higher octane does for you is to preclude engine knocking (ignition before it should) . . . If you think you are going to get more HP or pick up a few tenths
That extra 1 octane was never worth the 15c anyway. If you are not pinging with 93, there is no benefit.
I don't know if I agree....
I can't find 94 octane anywhere in Raleigh, NC, but when i go to Cleveland, Ohio they have it everywhere. AND believe me, I can feel the difference.....

Only 93 here in New York. Time keeps marching on. Gotta make due with what we got. Not like the old days. Really miss that blue Sunoco 260 from the 60's. When they got rid of that I had the same feeling. Save the Wave.>George

Yup all in your head.
I use 87 in my 04 coupe and the car runs just fine. The manual says this is all that is needed so why waste the $$.
