Default CE accesssory - Finally

West Coast Corvettes and GM Accessories is offering a "24 hours of Lemans" billet exhaust plate. $251.95 shipped. This is a mod I can do without changing the character of the CE.

Yipee!

$250 for an exhaust PLATE? I've paid less for exhaust SYSTEMS!

I'd like to have one, but that is about twice as much as it ought to cost.

I got mine from Kewl for $60. May not be billet, but it is LeMans Blue with the Z06 logo. Works for me, hopefully the aftermarket guys will continue with the CE stuff.

I bought a polished aluminum exhaust plate for about $30 without a logo. Ordered a CE emblem from Fichtner Chevrolet, and I have a CE exhaust plate for right around $100...

I like that price better. I would expect to pay they same as any other color for CE accessories.

If that is the same as the one I have it is a REALLY nice plate. But I'm sure I didn't pay that much for the "normal" C5 logo plate. I think it was about $160. Must be the CE tax on top of the Corvette tax...

Too high a price for me but hopefully it will look good on your car.

The problem is that the General is charging a heck of a lot for that Commemorative Logo emblem.

Now, it is a nicer emblem than the soft plastic black C5 emblem, but the list price is nearly $100 for that baby. A regular C5 emblem can be found for under $25. Right there you've got an extra $75 for anything you buy with that emblem. Add to it, the fact that GM isn't licensing much for the Commemorative, and you've got a premium price for CE stuff.

On a side note, West Coast Corvette just posted a few of those CE Plates on eBay starting at $219.

I'll post a pic of my homemade version this weekend.

If you order one from GM it comes from West Coast as they are the "authorized vendor" for that item.

Same price on their website with different shipping charge.

50K for the car, I figure I can go another few hundred to make it even more beautiful! Truth be told, I would have paid 5K more if the all the vinyl was leather and finished like the european cars.

Main problem is moding a CE when there is little or nothing out there in that theme. I've considered a leather armrest, but have to see if the logo is available with the silver oval instead of the black that I have seen.

To quote my fellow red necks Jeff and Larry

"I believe"

GM is missing a fairly good sized marketing opportunity here. I would like to buy several CE related "accessories" but there just isn't much out there.

That's cuz us crazy folks are willing to pay it. example this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=34215

Chevy mall sells it for $15. I've seen this seller get $31 for it.

I put a polished plate on mine with a vinyl c5 logo. $35delivered. Unless you have one of the bazzillion $ ones on your own, you wouldn't even notice the difference
