I'm trying to install the side screens, but I can't get the darn things to "stick". 3M on the clip thats screwed in to the screen doesn't stick too well. Plus for the life of me, I can't figure out how the misc. blocks holds the screen to the fender.......
Read install instructions several times....must be early alzheimer setting in. Any help would be appreciated.
The block that is attached to the screen butts up against the outer side
of the vent in the body well. The other two then butt up against the
screen (on each end), adhesive side again the inner body wall (sorry, its
difficult to put this in words you can visualize). I used denatured alcohol
to clean the areas to be adhered too, thoroughly!! No problems so far!
Hope this helps.
I used the industrial strength 3M double sided tape from Home Depot straight onto the blocks with an extra piece top and bottom. Had to cut the outside piece in 2 to avoid it peeking out from behind the fender. I also had to shape the grill to make sure it fitted tight with the space otherwise it pulls away from the surface. Took a while with some pliers. Agree that you need denatured alcohol to clean the surfaces. Even so, I had one come adrift last week and had to refix it.
