My friend with the detail shop prefers to use dental floss, he says it might break more often but it doesn't leave "saw marks" like the fishing line since it's softer.
After reading the horror stories, I rest my case. Leave them on and don't create trouble.
Any horror stories that happened did so because people removed the BMS's from used cars, not knowing the history of the car or didn't following removal instructions posted on this forum. Otherwise it's a very simple procedure. Heck, changing a light bulb is more complicated.

All three of mine were bought used, and no problems at all with the removal.
It is a very easy procedure...... and the cars look so much better.
