You can do a search on "removing body side moldings" or bsm. You'll find a ton of good tips on how to properly remove them. Most use a very slight amount of heat, some fishing line, then some adhesive remover to get rid of the left over tape. Simple to do. Good luck!

Lots of info on here about doing this. Take a hair dryer, heat up the moldings, and then use some fishing line to "saw" through the two sided tape. Then use something like WD 40 to remove the tape and residue.
