Default Column Lock By-Pass

I recently purchased a CLB from Corvettes of Houston. The install went as planned but when I start the car, I get a message that reads "pull key, wait 10 seconds & restart". I called their servive dept but the guy could not give me any kind of answer for the fix. Anyone else had this problem??

Thanks in Advance!

Lol, I posted the exact same question 9 minutes before you. Does yours display the message every time? I got the message, pulled the key, then it started fine, but haven't had a chance to test further.

What year vette's do you both have? I have heard this is only a problem in 97-98 , but for 99 and up supposedly the CLB works great...most people here side with getting the CLB...I'm still undecided

I installed my bypass from Corvettes of Houston a couple of weeks ago. Mine is a 99 M6. I haven't gotten the Pull Key, Wait 10 Sec message since I installed it. Works fine on my car. I'm knocking on wood right now too

Look at the directions that were included. There are a couple of fuses that need to be pulled, if this message comes up after installing the CLB. I can't remember which ones, as I am at work and the directions are somewhere in my garage. After pulling the fuses and waiting a minute, you put them back in and the message should be gone forever.

Come to think of it...there was a member in the Z06 section that posted a question about this part of the directions. I'll find the link and post it here.

Here is the link:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=885332

In a nut shell:
The Insruction Sheet from Corvettes Of Houston States:
"if a "service column lock" or pull key and wait 10 sec. error is displayed, remove the ignition key and fuses No. 25 and No. 29 from the fuse panel. Wait 1 minute and replace."
This is after the install.

Actually, you are North of me...Boynton & Jog. Next week, I hope to have a bunch of stuff to install in my Z. I have two friends that I met through the CF that may be coming over for a "mod party". If you would like, I can let you know time, date and place. You could come over and hang out with us. Hopefully you won't mind that the other two drive C4's. :

If after the fuse pull, you still have the issue, you might have to do this

It still may not go away. My 98 A4 had the same problem with two different CLB's. I did all of the tricks posted here and still "Pull key..." every time. It would always start the second time but what a PITA to have that happen. It goes in for the recall next week as I had a brief column lock incident last Saturday. Since yours is an MN6, I hope the other suggestions work for you.
