Yup same thing here, I pulled into a classic car show and they accepted me and my Vette with open arms. I was also surprised at how many people came over to look the vette over even though it's new. This made me feel part of the show and they are definitely a crowd pleaser.
Last night I had some free time and went for a drive. I passed this Classic Cruise that meets every Thursday. Decided to stop by and saw a sign, 1979 cutoff. As I rolled towards the entrance, I said to the guy "Guess I don't meet the cutoff" and he says "Vettes are always welcome". Hot stuff, pulled in and enjoyed a great night.
Apparently not always. Two months ago I was driving by the Wal-mart here in Elkton & saw that there was a local monthly car meet in progress. As I pulled into the Wal-mart lot & headed towards the show, one of the show's traffic guru's (not a kid either) informs me that the show is for cars 20 years old & older only. He then directs me to "park over there" in the Wal-mart customer parking. Since I did not stop to shop at Wal-mart & since I obviously wasn't wanted at the show, I wasn't about to expose my Vette to the demolition derby called Wal-mart parking and I left. Oh well, there are quite a few other meets in the immediate area that seem to be a bit more friendly.
