another vette on a flatbed (column lock)
locked up this morning. loaded it up and sent it to the dealership. They are saying it is going to take up to three hours to fix it. well I am glad all of out edit work is saved that way I can just upload it again. this is just a pain to have to go through. To all those who have not had this done do it ASAP or order the bypass. trust me you don't want to be stuck on the side of the road and missing your baby for a weekend.

Hope they get you fixed up. As it always happens, it has to break down to where you are without the car over a weekend.

The two local yokel dealerships in my area are telling me there is a six week backorder for the plates, which they are apparently installing whether it's needed or not. That's the response I got about the recall. I can't imagine what I'm going to do if it locks up on me. "We're sorry sir, your car will be fixed sometime in October, enjoy the loaner we provided." 
Guess I better research the Bypass and spend $50, cause the service here is an abomination!

Took mine in for the recall last week and it took an hour and fifteen minutes. I hate sitting around the dealer waiting, but it beats the crap out of sitting on the side of the road.

After they get your car back to you you still need to install a CLB. I have no faith in the GM fix.
From the responses I still marvel at all the owners that have not purchased and installed a CLB. After almost 8 years of this non-sense you'd think anyone that is a member of the forum would have installed a column lock by-pass by now?

Ordering mine today. I see Corvettes of Houston's ad only shows it for '97-'03. Ok to assume it will fit/work on the '04? All the beating
