Default Windshield wiper squirters leaking @ speed

I have noticed when I hit higher velocities of speed (110+), I start getting leakage from the windshield wiper squirters. Really messes up a clean windshield. I searched the archives for any mention of this problem and didn't run across anything. Has anyone else experienced this?

Don't worry too much. It appears to be normal. I've seen plenty of threads on it. I'm not the expert, but our cars (and their fluids) are not exempt to simple physics. And yes, whenever I've gunned it... I see the tear roll up my windshield.

There is a TSB about this and if your car is still covered under warranty GM will put a valve in to correct the issue.

about four years ago a similar post circulated here on the forum... I never benchmarked it.. but many people used a ford winshield wiper cleaner check valve.. they work but because I only went fast one time in my life and saw that tear run up the windshield... I figured it would be a reminder to slow down... kind a like a poor man's radar detector... I never put them on my car... those valves are around 2 to 3 dollars.
here ya go it was four years ago...a search brought this up:

There was a post here about using the check valve from Ford to cure it. It works very nicely! Get Windshield Wiper Fluid Check Valves (1 package = 2 valves) from Ford Motor Co.- #F8CZ-17A614-AA - $4.08 - any dealer will have it. Remove wiper arms (13 mm bolts under the snap off caps,
then wiggle and pull), cut the washer fluid tube under the blade assembly just before it splits to the 2 output nozzles, and install the valve (1 each side) with the check ball pointing towards the pump - i.e. away from the outlets, and press fit the thing back under the wiper arm prior to re-install. Nasty Ford part is invisible, and hammering the car = dry windshield. No big deal, I was just tired of cleaning up the solvent residue from the stuff.
One note from the service manual that was useful: before removing the wiper assemblies, turn the ignition to "accessory," turn wipers to slow intermittent, and turn off ignition when they are down (at end of cycle but not parked all the way down on the stops where they go to when you turn them off). Then use a piece of masking
tape on windshield on both sides to mark their position so that the reinstall is properly aligned.

So that is where the teardrop is coming from. It happens to me on occasion and I thought it was water getting trapped somewhere when I washed the car only to appear later to streak up the windshield.

I've been on the forum a couple years and I guess I missed all the other threads about the subject.

Although low on my priority list, I did want to see if I could find out what was causing this. Now I know.

Guess I still have to carry around that special windshield microfiber towel to clean it up when it happens... oh well.

Yeah, I get it too. Tells me when I'm approaching a realistic speed.

Don't worry...It's a windshield lubricant for high speed driving.

Good for 2 RWHP I believe.

just suck out about half the washer fluid and you will have no further problems. I have NEVER used the washer fluid anyway.

It happens quite often, especially if your windshield washer tank is full. Drain some of the fluid out and it should quit doing this.

Ahhh! Just checked the tank level and sure enough, it's right at the top. I'll try reducing the level and see what happens. The washers will rarely be used here in So. Cal - so a new weight reduction mod is on the way! Thanks for your input.

Again I say, GM has a fix they will do for free if you are still under warranty. Someone already posted the GM part number. GM put this fix out in Jan of 2003 yet did not put it in car built after that because they say it doesn't happen to all the cars.
