Default Now THIS is a good weekend...

Hey Piranha-

That definitely turned ut to be a great weekend! But here's a REALLY good weekend...

I've been looking at NSXs and Vettes for a long time now. I have a daily driver, a CLK430 Designo Edition (which will be up for sale soon) but I wanted a weekend car, something I could have fun with mods...love to do my own work, started with building a 302 for my 1968 Mustang and went from there...anyway...

I was using Ken at the Vette Net to help me on the C5 part of the search, and though he came close a couple of times (including getting me high up on the list for a C6, which I scrubbed after I got the cost with options) nothing had been "it" do far.

I left on a business trip a week ago that took me to NY and Miami through the weekend. On Saturday I'm in the hotel checking email, and I get one from Ken saying he has the perfect C5 for me. Dammit! I wrote back and told him I was in Miami, but when I get back, if it's still available, I'll talk to him.

And as it turns out, the Vette WAS IN MIAMI, 30 minutes from my hotel. Ken calls the seller and he drives it over to me, where we take it out an a test drive for a half hour. It was great!

And an hour later, I was the proud owner of a new 2000 Hardtop...pewter/black, 6-spd, Z51 package. It arrives in LA in 2 weeks.

Now how's that for a good weekend? I'm officially in the Vette club!

(so now...can anyone recommend a good tuner in the LA/OC area?)

You are gonna love it! I still love mine and when I walk out to my car, I don't get tired of the idea of walking out to possibly one of the greatest cars ever designed!

CONGRATS!

You could have turned it into a great week by driving it home. Could have saved the plane fare. Congrats on the new ride.

If I didn't have to fly to Atlanta first, I definitely would have!

So now how do I get that pic up on the site?
