Default Trailering a Z06

Hey all!

First time trailering the Z06. On the C4s, there are 'hooks' welded to the frame in the front and back(what they would chain down the cars to the transports when new) that were perfect points. I have been under the Z06 quite a bit and don't recall anything like that. Where's the best place to strap a Z06 for hauling? Thanks

What about the rental trailors you see that strap down the tires. I have used those(not on a vette) several times, once to drive from San Antonio to Miami.

There are holes in the frame rail, front and rear. They are just fore and aft of the doors, about 6-8" or so under the car. They will be obvious once you know where to look. I think they take t-hooks.

I prefer to strap the car down by the tires and allow the car's suspension to work while it's on the road though. The holes in the frame I use for pulling the car up on the ramp though.

J-hooks and insert them into the holes in the frame where the jacking pads go. Then cross the straps to the tie downs. Right front hook to the left front tie down on the trailer.

J-hooks or T-hooks are avalible at towing supply places. Look in the yellow pages for places that sell tow trucks.

Get some good 5000 lbs straps too. This combination will hold your Z tightly in place.

Rats, my mistake I just saw you had a wonderfull ZR-1 - the above is for C5s & C6s.

My freind has a 94 Zr-1 and he uses tire straps for the front tires and some good strong straps around the frame for the rear.
