The worst thing about the C6
We're losing C5 general posters to the C6 side. I see that they have about the same amout of viewers as us now. That means less brainpower over here. The newbies that buy their old cars won't be much help for a while. God help us if Patches and others like him buy one.
I have my "more" favorite years of Corvette and "least" favorite models. Even though the C6 is on my "least" list; as long as CorvetteForum.com gets the posts, it doesn't matter to me which section they are in.
Look at all the C4 guys that are joining the C5 forum. We may not know C5s as well but we catch on fast
Also, us C4 guys have been turning our own wrenches on the C4's for a while, so with the knowledge we have been picking up, we have been able to help the true "newbies" (first time Vette owners). I have noticed that lately, there have been a lot less posts about BSM's than I have seen here in the past. Just let us ex-C4 guys get up to speed here and you won't miss the C5 guys that have moved on to the C6. Heck, I bet a bunch of them still check out the C5 section and share their knowledge. I know I do with the C4 section. to all Corvette owners of all generations!!
Is that why you were "too busy at work" to come to Carlisle? Besides, I work alone. Who to delegate to?
Yes, I was busy delegating. Sadly, we will be closing operations here in ~2 months. Then I may have more than enough time to go to Carlisle. So there is a silver lining in every cloud.
You can hire someone and then delegate your duties to free up your time for more productive activities.
I could never abandon you guys. Who would lock Evil-Twin in his cage every night?

Call me crazy but I thought by the title of this thread that it was going to ask opinions about what is the worst thing about the C6. And I was getting ready to unload my list!!

I haven't formed an opinion as yet. Plan to look at one in detail this weekend. The only Vettes on my worst list are the 1976 thru '85 years. No Verts!

You know, it's kind of funny.... I've noticed the make up of the C5 General crowd seems to have migrated to a bunch of new folks - but having been around a little over a year myself - I didn't know if this was a cyclical tendency.
I guess I'll be around for a long time (for what that's worth! ) since I plan on holding onto my C5.
The bottom line is that the guys that we're calling "newbies" aren't all newbies with Vettes or cars. They are newbies only to the forum. They may have A LOT to offer, knowledge - wise. They may not know the old-timers around here, or the exact proper etiquette, but they also bring fresh perspectives to the table. That "freshness" is what makes this place so great and entertaining!

Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
