[Z06] HUD and shift indicator question
The HUD is supposed to flash a shift indicator to tell me the best time to shift. I can't seem to get that to work. I pressed the display button and toggled through the options like odometer, tach etc, I don't see a shift setting. What makes that shift indicator flash on? Do I have to really push up the rpms to get it to come on? I know it's there because one time the sun was shinning on the LCD if that's what it is called, and I could see all the options reflecting off the windshield including the shift indicator. But I can not seem to make it come on.
Thanks,
trebor

It is very hard to see. There is a picture in the owners manual. I think the word "shift" is below the tach bar.
Under hard acceleration in 1st and 2nd, there is so little delay between the light and the rev limiter than you might not see it. It is much easier to see in 3rd, which I see on the track often, but that isn't something I'd advise checking out on the street.
You can probably see it if you do a slower run up to redline in 1st or 2nd.
