I installed my BPP short shifter this morning and I have to say that I am very pleased with the outcome. The stock shifter felt sloppy and I sometimes had to try twice to get into gear. Installation took no time at all and the feel of this setup is just . I picked the kit up at Carlisle for 200, and it was worth every cent. The guys at Breathless are a great group, and took time out of their busy schedule at the show just to BS with me. Also got a billiard shift **** to top it off. Great shifter for those looking. BTW, Bpp also includes a few spring sets for your personal preference in stiffness. Once again, to Breathless. Darroch Malone

Thanks for the opinion. I have been considering Hurst B&M, Breathless, and Mallet. Narrowed it down to Hurst and Breathless. I might PM you with questions as I move closer within the Mod Grand Scheme... hee, hee.
I hope you enjoy the shifter as much as I do mine. The only thing I noticed was that the boot kept sliding down the shaft, exposing the bare metal. I cured that by removing the **** and boot and sliding a snug fitting rubber grommit over the shaft. After re-installing the boot and ****, the boot stays snug against the bottom of the ****.
ACELR8N: I look forward to hearing from you. Bpp also had a setup at the show with the Hurst, B&M, stock, and theirs on a plate so that you could feel the difference. According to them, they took the best aspects from Hurst and B&M, and then made their own. You wont be disappointed.
Snidley: I find it odd that you had a problem with your shifter boot because my boot is actually really snug right below the ****. I actually tried to move it down slightly and it wont budge. Guess its for the best.
The shifter assembly itself looks SWEET. But of course, it is hidden. Just like the Bilsteins and Hotchkis bars I'm putting on today. I'll try to take some pics though. It seems to set in a slightly different position with how I have mine installed. However, you can change the angle and position of the shifter. I'll see what I can do for pics. Still waiting for my registration email from Photobucket. Darroch Malone
When you were comparing the demos, what differences did you notice between the various shifters? Is the BPP really worth $45 more than the Hurst? I'm getting close to making a decision and appreciate all the input I can get.
I had plans to get one of their shifters at Carlisle. Stopped by the tent on Friday and Saturday and was not happy with the service, or lack of service, each trip. Kept my money in my pocket and spent it elsewhere.
YMMV

Thanks!
I have a Hurst that I am completely satisfied with. The only issue with
the Hurst is the stop screws. You can either remove them completely
as I've read in other threads OR apply adequate locktite when setting
them to keep them in place (this was my choice). If they are not
tightly secured they can move and prevent you from shifting into the
effected gear. As long as your aware of this and use the remedy above,
it is not a problem. The shifter itself is of the highest quality and is a
tremendous improvement over the stock shifter.
Per other members experience, I'm sure the BPP is a good choice too!
Good luck with your decision!
Dave, when playing with the different setups it seemed to me as though the BPP had the shortest throw and the stiffest feel. Of course, the stiffness can be custom tailored to each person per the different spring setups that come with this shifter. I dont know if the other shifters come with those or not. Soft, Medium, Stiff, Stock, and what the BPP guys call the Woman's spring are what I think are included. Not to mention great instructions, a wedge to angle the shifter 5 degrees if wanted, and a great looking piece to boot. To each his own. Great buy though. Probably be happy with whatever you decide to purchase. But you have a vote for the BPP here.
No stop screw problems to hassle with either. That would steer me away from the Hurst. Not sure if I can justify $45 more, but I have no Hurst experience. Like I said, I picked mine up for $200, no shipping. I was, however, always told that you get what you pay for. Have a great day/night. Darroch Malone

Thanks, Eric and Darroch for your honest opinions. I know a few local C5 guys who have the Hurst shifter and I'll have to ask around to see if anyone has the BPP. I'm sure I'd be very happy with either one, although I doubt I'd go for the stiff springs!
I am planning on installing mine this weekend. Heard alot of good things about this shifter.
Mine is sitting in the garage waiting to be installed. I wish I could do it on Saturday, but am going to have to wait until after this @#$@ hurricane passes over us in South Florida. Hopefully, next weekend I will get my BPP shifter installed.
