Is 1/2 quart over filled too much?

Is 1/2 quart over filled too much?
I just put 7 quarts of mobil one in. Is it going to be a problem? The oil level is way above the full line on the dipstick. I let the oil drain for an hour to make sure I got all the old stuff out, so it was dry before I put new oil in.

I also run 7 quarts, the sig Makes that obvious. and Yep GM recommends it if you do a lot of track and Auto-X.

You should not have any problems going with 7 quarts. Many add this little extra if they race the car.
