Vert as parade car?
Guys, I've been asked to have about a 115lb girl and 130 lb guy ride in the convertible at a homecoming parade. (You've gotta love small town America stuff!)
My concern, other than making sure they don't scratch anything, is if the hard tonneau cover on a 2003 convertible can support this weight properly. Before I go sit my 190lb butt on it and break or crack something, I thought I'd ask. Surely one of you smart guys has experience on this.

I just asked my neighbor about this very same thing the other day. He said its fine, put a blanket down and ask them to please not bounce up and down. He has a vert and he did it for Homecoming too. He also asked the guy to remove his shoes as he stepped in to the car. The girl he lifted and she took her shoes off and he placed her up there. It worked out he said no issues.
Good luck.
Good luck.

I posted this after watching the NFL Hall of Fame Parade on TV. Most of the Hall of Famers are big NFL dudes and the Vettes can carry their weight.
"Just finished watching on TV the annual NFL Hall of Fame Parade from Canton, Ohio and most of the Hall of Famers were driven in Corvettes."

Actually, for some parades, it's harder on the left leg and clutch more than anything else.

Not a problem, done it lots of times. Before they enter the car, move the passenger seat all the way forward, then they can step in on the carpet behind the seat, and not walk on the console and seat.

Thanks, all. I already figured out the shoe thing, the blanket thing and the mirror thing ;-)
And for what its worth, this is a couple of 15 year olds - the Duchess and Duke in the homecoming parade in support of the King and Queen. These are sophmores. And while I know I'm supposed to post pictures, and both these kids are good friends of my son (who will probably be driving the car around the football field since he's had his license for all of a week), you'll just have to trust me when I tell you that this young woman is the sort that only exist in Dallas, Houston, Atlanta and SoCal. Almost scary beautiful...oh, to be 16 again!

The tonneau cover should hold that weight. Just ask them to sit still and not move around.

Done that before without any problems with the car, but my wife said, "You are not doing that again!" Maybe it had something to do with the girl being a very attractive contestant for home-coming queen.

I guess I have an understanding wife. Last two years drove seniors in my vert T/A and each time they won. There was some arguing over which senior couple could ride in my car, since I have a track record! My son's friends won even though they are sophmores and can't win.
BTW, someone told me that the girl from two years ago is in a UT or Texas AM cheerleader calendar. Now she was spectactular!
And, I'm trying to pick a fight here but having lived in several places around the country, I'm telling you - they only grow `em like this down here.

It must be the water there or something. But if the one from two years ago would like to ride in a coupe ............ I can be there in no time.
