Default Silver paint scuffed - any advice?

My bride of 21 years was maneuvering around my Sebring Silver C5 last Sunday and scrunched her passenger door along the left rear of my car. It looked terrible until I cleaned off the paint from her car. Now I just have some areas - say one inch by three - where the paint has been scuffed. So in those areas the paint is dull looking - not the usual shine.

Can anyone recommend something short of a repaint to put the "shine" back in? From 10 feet you can't see it - but it's pretty obvious up close - I'm thinking a little work and it might be hard to see.

The weird thing is that her (metal) door looks much worse than my rear quarter-panel.

She felt terrible about it (still does) and bought me a sympathy card. I tried to get her to OK a C6 purchase but she wasn't that sympathetic.

I had to repair a scratch on the rear, right fender that was scratched. Mine was down to the primer coat and about 1 inch long. I ended up having to put sufficient paint in the crack to level it with the clear coat. I sanded it with 1000 grit and then used a 3M product to rub it out. After rubbing it out everything looks good. Try some mild rubbing compound and then wax. You may have to rub it a couple of times. Hope that helps.. oh yeah.. sorry to hear about the No C-6

Try some very mild polishing compound - it may take away much of the scuff. I use a product called Adam's Scratch Out (available through WCC) and it takes away a lot of scratch marks. You may also want to try a claybar.

The Langka stuff works pretty good.......but whatever you do, I would never suggest even a "mild" rubbing compound. Several companies make "finishing" compounds, including 3M, that are much less abrasive than "mild" rubbing compounds, but you really need to have experience with it or you can make a mess. Just my.02 worth.
