Default Wheels

I am trying to make a decision on new wheels. I am somewhat torn between just going with stock size '00 chromes or stock size Z06 chromes. I do not have big bucks to spend so by doing this I could put my EMT's on the new wheels and probably go into next year before I need a change. On the other hand and extra inch front and back would definitely look better along with handling benefits. Please give me a little input and I would appreciate some pictures of a TR car with both wheels to help with my decision. The other choice is to just stick with the painted base wheels ??

Thanks, Kevin

I've got the exact opposite problem of you, I'm hoping my wheels last a few more months until I can afford new wheels too. If it were me, I'd wait and get both at the same time and get them in Z06 sizes. Also, if you decide to get the Y2Ks, you can get them in 17x9.5/18x10.5.

Just FYI, You can mount stock size wheels on Z06 size tires, but what I'm told is that it doesn't look quite right. That's just what I've read on the forum, not personal experience

For those wanting to keep the run flat capability.. and are considering New wheels.. I would op for getting 18's front and 19's rear... then putting on the NEW a vastly improved Goodyear EMT's... with a chioce of compound... either touring or performance.. in the C6 18 and 19 sizes..

You might want to consider our 18-19" upgrade packages as shown at

I went with Z06 size wheels and tires on mine and it looks good for sure. But, if you want to keep the runflats (short of going with 18/19 wheels like the C6), they do make Z06 wheels in the stock C5 size. Many vendors carry the wheels, so shop around and see what price you can get.

We need to upgrade wheels & tires too. We do have a set of CCW Track Wheels & Nitto Racing tires...the combo is kick-azz, but we still need something for the street. Been thinking of 10x18 front 11x19 on the rear, not too sure on the tires yet. The Nittos spoiled me!
