Default Zo6 computer memory

I have a 2002 zo6. I put the blackwing airfilter on it, and was wondering if after the computer learns the new airflow, will that information stay in the computer if I disconnect the battery. Sometimes I don't drive my car for a month, so I disconnect the battery to keep the battery from running down. If I connect the battery and drive the car again, will the computer have to learn the airflow from the beginning as if I just put on the airfilter for the first time? Thanks everybody.

Good question, I would assume that the memory would default back to the stock factory settings. Any experts out there??

I don't think so! It shouldn't matter how long the battery is disconnected-whether it's an hour or a month it's disconnected.
It's a computer...if your battery on your digital camera dies & you replace it, do you lose your settings (date/time)?? No,right?
I think the air/fuel settings will remain..

By the way, just noticed my avitar is back!

My battery ran down at a car show, lost all the settings in a matter of minutes. Clock, seat settings, radio stations etc...

Some items are non critical and would be reliant on battery power to be retained. It boils down to what kind of memory is being used to store various information. If static type memory like a hard drive ... it wouldnt matter if power were lost, but is more expensive ... if like RAM, it would be gone as soon as power is lost. Some systems may have a backup battery of sorts. Having said all that .. I have no clue about exactly how each type of settings is being stored in the Z's computer/radio, etc. I am sure there are Techs out there with the answer that frequent the forum.

Great question, I always thought that engine configuration information was kept in static memory. However, I could be wrong.

Although my Z06 is my daily driver, I work at home. That means I don't drive as often as I would like. Some Corvette friends suggested I invest in a battery minder because there is a lot of electrical stuff running even when the Corvette is not.

I wonder if part of that battery drain is in keeping all the current engine tweaks stored in memory.

Your settings will stay in comp. You should get a battery tender and chg. once a month. You will be in great shape!
