I finally got around to installing my CLB, and NOW i get the Pull key..wait 10 seconds, and Service Column Lock error on the DIC. Never had the problem, and tried to be proactive. I have everything installed correctly, even did it twice...Ideas? Please Help
I'm going to guess that you have a 97, 98, or 99. If so, the CLB may or may not work on those cars. You may just have to remove it and take your chances with the column lock.
My next guess is that it may not be installed properly. I'll tell you what. I'll be in Dallas on Monday and would be happy to stop by and take a look. I'm no expert, but I've installed litterally dozens of these for people around Houston and have never had a problem.
I may take you up on that if i cant get an answer...But it is kinda difficult to screw up. I pulled all the plastic, and disconnected the connector. Used the Cigerette lighter thingy to unlock the wheel. Installed the bypass kit onto the connector. I even pulled the 25, and 29 fuse, and disconnected the battery for 10 minutes. Ideas anyone? Oh, and one more thing, the wheel is unlocked. Moves freely.

Is your car a 6 speed or auto? If an auto go get the recall done. I had my 98 done 2 weeks ago as the CLB never worked right in my car. I always got the "Pull key..." message with the CLB installed.
What i find amazing is that the people on this forum would be eating me alive right now if this was a "My Column locked, help" post, but when its a post about hey...Doing the CLB and having problems, not much in the way of responses. Thanx everyone that did respond, i guess i will be calling Corvette's of Dallas/Houston to see if they can help me seeing that is where i bought the CLB.
And yes, i did post this same question, and rant on tech as well.
Sounds like you got a bad CLB. I just installed mine from Corvettes of Houston and it is fine. However, the instructions indicate that it could be a faulty CLB if the errors don't clear. Call them, they will surely help.
Just read some of the replies to this clb problem. What's the deal with 97, 98, and 99's? I have a 98 6 spd that I am getting ready to install a clb. What problems to look for? Thanks.

I could be you received minimal response because very few of the CLB users experienced this type of problem. Assuming this is the case, would you like people to just guess at the cause of your problem?

When I installed mine in my 99 a few months ago, I too got the
"pull key" message. I disconnected the battery for a couple of minutes
then reconnected and apparently cleared the code. I have never seen the message since. You might try it.
I did pull the 25 and 29 fuse's as well as the battery. Code's still happen after that.
I would take Corvette SSX up on his offer if it was me.......but he would want a first class ticket if I had the problem He said he said has done many installs maybe he can help with your problem.
I know this is a pain, but what I would do is uninstall the CLB and
reconnect everything back to stock. Then clear all errors and then see
that no more codes/msgs are thrown. Then carefully reinstall the CLB...
thats what I would do.
If your still getting errors, call COH and explain them your dilemma. Maybe
you have a bad CLB.
