I am thinking about getting a cam installed for my 99FRC over the winter also want LS6 intake long tubes and tune, but I really dont know anything about cams I am looking at this

http://www.carbuffsweb.com/shop.asp?...mSubTypeID=182

I want a streetable CAM but not something so mild that I only get 15hp my vette is not my DD and I dont mind the loss in mpg.

can someone tell me if this is a good cam mild wild, what kind of HP am I looking at with something like this?? And any general info about cams?
Thanks!
Jason

That's a little to high on pricing (my opinion) You can order a Custom Cam (Lunati etc.) For about a $ 125.00 cheaper , MTI has some good Cams , Their Stealth Series Cam is a very nice Cam. The LS6 intake would be beneficial too along with some Headers ( KOOK'S ) . (My Guestimate would be 45 RWHP Gain with a Cam swap & Headers).

You need to talk with one of the reputable tuners...Norris, MTI, Cartek & talk to them. We just upgraded the cam, headers, & intake on our 427 & got 50 RWHP.

Check out my sign, this was done with AFR heads (205 milled to 59cc's) and a LG G5x-3 cam (cam specs is a secret as per LGM). My other mods are 4.10's, TPIS LT headers/Random Tech cats and x pipe, Blackwing and ASP pullies. East Coast Supercharging did the work. A little note.....the cam does not like 1500rpm or lower starts to buck mildly when cruising at that rpm. I'm getting around 25mpg on the hwy, don't know what the city is because of the steel plate in my right foot

I didn't opt for heads but on the GX53!! 2500rpms and up is a
big kick in the pants!! For a non-DD I beleive its perfect (IMHO). I get 24
highway, 17 city. For me, I noticed 1800rpms and lowers it bucks some.
A cam this big can't help it!
