Front Plate in NV

In TX, everyone seemed to have it fitted including the high performance cars. Now with a $200 fine I can see where the incentive is! In Las Vegas, only 50% of cars seem to bother and there seems to be little push from the LEOs to stop people for it. Most cars I see being stopped seem to be beaters or speeders.
I'm particularly interested in comments from LV drivers as to whether anyone ever gets pulled over. I'd also like to hear which other States are hard of soft on offenders.

I live in Las Vegas as well and have not put the front plate on a number of my cars, including my 2004 CE Coupe. Hate the way it looks with the plate on. I've never been stopped in more than 6 years with various cars. Of course, I don't drive like an idiot so I don't give them reason to stop me. I do keep the plate in the trunk in case I need to show an officer that I do have it.

Here's hoping that as long as I drive responsibly, all will be well. My guess is that if you're stopped for doing something crazy, they'll nail you for the lack of front plate at the same time.

BTW, many high end Mercedes, BMWs, Jags, etc. don't run a front plate either,,,

I have been stopped for another issue (no ticket though), and the LEO never said a thing about no front plate. One thing that may contribute to this attitude is that Arizona does not require front plates. When the officer sees you from the front, you could just be driving an Arizona car. It's less than 50 miles from Vegas to the Arizona border.

I also have never run front plates on my 2000 SS Camaro. I have only been pulled over once for no front plates, and that was in the Camaro, by a DPS officer(seemed like a rookie...made a complete U-turn in hvy traffic for this???), and even then he only gave me a warning(the cops are pretty cool around here for the most part).
I have been pulled over for other things in the Vette, but the front plate violation is never mentioned.
I get the impression that they agree with us, that Vettes don't really look that good with the front plate on...and I know they like the Corvette, cause I had one stop me in a parking lot once, when I was about to get in my car. I had just exited a convenience store...
Says the cop, "Sir, I'm not going to be able to let you take that car(he had pulled in behind me, so I couldn't get out)."
"And why would that be?" I asked.
He says, "Cause it's just too cool, and I just gotta have one!(then he starts laughing)." Then I laugh as well, and say, thanks...and he asks me if it's very fast, and I say, "Yes, it's extremely fast, actually, but NEVER in this town!(with a big smile)." He just laughed, and said to be careful(really cool cop!).
Got stopped one time for getting on it a little too much, but the LEO was polite and said to take it easy. .. Then he says, "so, what year is your vette?"
never been pulled over for it either. i've already decided if i ever do get pulled over and cited for it, i'll just mount it below the bumper on the spoiler and let it catch crap like it deserves.
nice pic of yours at red rock. we should get a small cruise up there soon now that the temps are getting better
