I just picked up my 2003 Z06 on Thursday, and am already getting new tires for it. I've ordered a set of Toyo T1S tires, since I run these tires on my modified toyota MR2 Turbo. They're really quiet, and handle really nicely in the dry, and are awesome in the wet.
They're available in Z06 sizes, but I ordered 275/40r17 for the fronts to get a hint of better turn in, for $120 each, and the rears are the usual 295/35r18 for $209 (this is not the usual retail pricing!). My tire guy is away for a week unfortunately, so I won't have them on the car until after that, and will then be able to offer a comparison to the stock Goodyear SCs.
Nope. Toyo, Kumho are two companies that I researched. There are others, pricey though. Falken, a cheaper tire, makes them for the front, but not the rear. I'm not going to mix manufacturers. Toyo is the way to go for me.
Good to know, but Tire Rack searches for Z06 wheel sizes only indicate Goodyear and Michelin. Don't know why that is cause they list Kumho as a carried brand, but not Toyo. Glad you found some.

Tirerack has very specific rules in their computer to prevent people from buying the wrong tires.
But, if you click on the tire rack from here, order the Kumho's by searching for tire brand vice car, and put a note in the remarks letting them know you understand the front size is 10mm wider than stock, they will call you to confirm, but still sell you the tires.
That is alot of work to go through. I just Googled for tires and voila. I won't post the site, cause it's against forum rules. But, if inquiring minds want to know...
Bob forgot to mention he needs Z06 sizes. Do the GSD3s come in Z size?
The GS D3s do NOT come in Z06 sizes, at least not the rears -
285/35-18 is the widest (vs Z06 295/35-18). I've had the GS D3s on my '99 coupe (stock sizes) for about a year and they are excellent in both the dry and wet. The only thing negative I can say about the Kuhmos is their treadwear rating is very low compared to comparable tires (get what you pay for).

Yes, I noticed that the Z06 width is not available in any tire except Michelin Pilot Sport and Goodyear factory original tires. I sent an email to Michelin about 6 months ago asking about their new PS2's for Z06 front tire sizes (they offer rear only) and the operator stated he would submit my request. It is now September and still no evidence of front PS2 sizes for Z06 wheelies.
Well, I ended up buying a used set of supercar tires off an 01 Z. I have pics and they look good for the money. $500 delivered. Got them from our C5 Parts section. Guy said they had around 4000 miles on them. I measured my tread depth and I have about 2/32nds or less left, so these will be a huge improvement. Thanks for all of the suggestions. I will definitely know what to buy the next time. (Toyos)
I'm no expert but don't tires have better grip on dry pavement with less tread? Isn't that why you shave tires for racing?
Bob's car is not a daily driver so I say he should stick with the bald SC tires until they pop!
