I have read and used the search engine on the forum to research all the lowering questions and answers that I could find. I put my on the stands, identified the bolt for the front, but could not get to it. I have the ride control function on my 98 Nass Coupe. One past thread stated that I had to undue the sway bars, lower shock bolts, and the ball joint bolt. Other threads say none of this. Which is the best way to do this and is there any special tools that I will need. Thanks.
Not sure about the ride control function but for mine I only needed to unbolt all of that stuff to pull the bolts out to cut the bushings down.
To just lower on stock bolts all I had to do is remove the front tire and unload the spring. Removing the front tire gave me access to the bolt with a socket or wrench. I needed to put the front on jack stands or use 2 floor jacks.
But the bolt won't turn unless you unload the spring by jacking up the area you are working on. I still had to put a 12" long piece of pipe on the wrench to turn the bolt....
HUH!!?? This is the first time I have EVER heard that! Back-up references?
I think I'd ignore Mr. Member since Sept. 2004 and go with the advice of those who've been around awhile and obviously know what they're talking about.
