Default Halltech Stinger/Hood Blanket

Installed my Stinger just as the instructions say, seems the air bridge is rubbing the hood blanket. I don't see any room to move the air bridge lower, filter element is against the front cross member and against the radiator cover. Anyone else having this problem with the Stinger?

Is your hood distorted after closing it? Some compression of the hood liner is normal, but it shouldn't be so much that the hood is bent. If so, check any connection that would cause the airbridge to sit up higher or lower than optimum. A common mistake is to push the components in too far when connecting them to the flexible couplings, especially the airbridge-to-TB coupling.

Good luck!

Installed my Stinger a few weeks ago, took me about thirty-five minutes at the shop where I work. No instructions but it was not very hard, the only problem I had was I assembled the whole thing and tried to put it in and it doesn't go in like that!!! Musta spent ten minutes on that alone!! Oh well, it was fun working on the car for the first time!

My instructions on Halltech's website would have saved you a chunk of time, but the important thing is that you did it.

I know Dave, I know, but at the shop there is only a dial up internet connection and Lord knows I'd have been done before downloading the instructions and Adobe Acrobat!!!!

Thanks, Vetter! I'm glad you're enjoying the Stinger-R. Remember, the Stinger-guy gets the girls!

Mine leaves a slight indent on the hoodliner, no problems with the hood itself though. Simple install also!!

Install went fine, used the instructions form the web site. The hood seems to be closed and no bulge or anything where the Stinger is, just noticed a wear spot on the hood blanket above the air bridge. Thanks for the replies..

Yep, that's characteristic. I thought I was imagining things at first (never thought to take a picture of the hood liner before I took the OEM unit out). About the second week after the install I even saw some red on the hood liner, but that has gone now and just the gray impression remains.
