800 miles, first 'break'...

Well, OK...it's just the ashtray cover door/panel where i guess the spring came off so it won't stay closed all the way; apparently the spring on the lid of the actual ashtray is more powerful than whatever is now supposed to hold the cover/panel over it shut. Oh well, guess it's time to take the console out and look.

If you've got a stick it would be a great time to put an after market shifter in you're half way there. JMO.

my vette has that same problem. i just took out the ashtray and now the cover stays closed since the ashtray lid isn't pushing it up. does anyone know a proper fix for this??
