Default adding Z51...?

I have a '99 coupe and what to upgrade the suspension. Is it possible to get the Z51 package? I heard its a factory install, so does that mean my baby has to go back to the factory to get it? Any idea how much that would cost?

Better question, what suspension upgrades are out there, which is the best, and how much do they cost?

Thanks a lot.

Go for the Z06 upgrade which is one step better and still a very good highway ride.

This is an easy install for any competent mechanic.

BTW there was a recent article that went through all kinds of upgrades for the C5 and the conclusion was the biggest single improvement was tires.

Thanks for the info, good stuff. I am already riding on Pilot sports, so I am good on tires. Might be going with Pirellis next time around just to try them out. Or maybe some drag radials.

What makes the Z06 package better than the Z51?

I agree, go with the Z06 package. I upgraded my shocks and swaybars a while back, and it made a huge difference. I just changed out the springs and would highly suggest you do all three. The new springs really made the ride and handling a lot better.

Slightly stiffer bar and more agressive shocks. The 2004 Z06 shocks I listed above are supposed to be just short of magic.

The full Z51 package includes a power steering cooler and if you have an A4, the G92 option which is a 3.15 rear end and stronger axle.
