My DCI says 16.5 ! Is there something wrong? Btw I don't have a heavy foot either !
With a decent amount of stop and go, I will see about 15 - 16mpg. My normal mixture of city/highway (about 40/60) gets me between 20 and 22mpg depending on how I drive.
On the Hot Rod Power Tour, I got 27 on one tank and 28 on another. That was my last long trip. Around town usually less than 20 due to a little spirited driving................

Around town I'm averaging just a tick under 20 mpg, but on the highway I always get about 29-32 (averaged 32 on my 5100 mile odyssey this summer!). I definitely get less mileage than in my coupe, but overall I get soooo much more from the car, so it's a tradeoff I'm comfortable with
Around town I get about 20 MPH. Took a road trip to MI this last August (Woodward Cruise) and got a multiple results. When I got caught in road construction (cruising at 60) I got 29.7 MPH. When I did not have to deal with road construction (cruising at 75) I got 27.5. If the AC was running I got about 2 MPG less under each condition. The mileage I get with this car amazes me.
Same as my 99 MN6 17-19 city and 26 to 28 highway. I did conduct the same test on the Z that I did on my 99 to see just how much MPG I could extract from the Z using every trick in the book, yet drive the car and yet be easily repeatable.
I filled up at a service station near an on ramp to IL 70 near Highland IL. I aired my tires to 32 cold before I left home. I ran the AC to keep the aero drag down. I then proceeded to Effingham about 65 miles north on IL-70. I set the cruise at 68 MPH and tried my best to keep from braking and making lane changes. I exited IL-70 in Effingham and turned around and got back on IL-70 south heading back towards St Louis. I pulled into the same service station I tanked up using the exact fill technique (allow the fuel to flow until it shut off and added no more). Since I zeroed my Trip A odometer I divided the actual miles driven (128.4) by the actual number of gallons used (4.2) my actual highway fuel mileage was - 30.57 MPG.
I was stunned, my modded (425HP) 2003 Z06 managed over 30 MPG and it was very easily accomplished and I'm sure I could have extracted a tad more had I driven a longer distance.
These cars are incredible.
But like the window sticker warns "your mileage may vary".
20mpg on my last tank. Getting on it frequently (feeling out the new Head/Cam setup), A/C on ALL the time, and 2 dyno runs, and ALL city driving. Insane huh??
