Default Passenger side window wind noise

2004 coupe with 3000 miles bought Feb 2004. The window regulator was replaced because the window would not go down all the way. Has been back to the dealer once, since the initial repair. Still has wind noise at 65+ MPH. Dealer wants to move the door around to repair and I will not let him. Any suggestions?

If you are able try another dealer who may have a different way to fix the wind noise

... this has just started happening to me.
I've pin-pointed it to the first break in the weatherstripping from the front ... it's where the top folds.

But mine has 29,977 .. not 3000.

I had a similar problem on the driver side when I got the car. It was the
way the seals were laying in the top-rear of the window. Once I got
the folds reseated in the correct pattern, problem went away!

Good luck getting it fixed!

I know there is a window tip in adjustment.

There are/were instructions in the tech tips section.

If the dealer knows how to fix it and you won't let him, what kind of suggestion are you looking for?

There are only three ways that I know of to fix it. And the only reason I know them is because my coupe was in the shop five times for a total of 7 days to have all of this done.

1) Major adjust settings by taking the door apart.
2) Minor adjust done thru the edge of the door. Usually done after #1 during finally testing.
3) Adjust the door itself if the major and minor adjust doesn't bring it in to alignment. Then you go back to step #1.

Tightening the targa top down won't do you any good. About the only thing that does is help wear out the front weather stripping sooner.

What caused mine to be done so many times is a broken latch on the left side. That wasn't figured out till trip 4. Trip 5 resulted in the latching system being replaced and the rear weather strip being replaced due to tearing from the vibrating roof.

If you find another way to fix it than those 3, please tell me. Because it would be nice to know should the wind noise ever return on my coupe.

Good Luck.

The window can be adjusted to where it tips in closer to the weatherstrip. I had this done on my '99 and it eliminated a lot of the wind noise. Good luck.

My 98 had a small leak by where the weather stripping from the front pillar meets the top. I had the door apart and adjusted for 2 hrs. It looks like the window is about 1/8" further back in the door than optimal. After all the adjustments it still had a slight leak by the weather striping joint. I used some small pieces (pea sized) of black foam rubber and inserted it into the weatherstripping on the top. There is a little recessed area that I poked a small hole in and pushed the pieces in with a pair of forceps. Windleak stopped and everything looks normal!

The reason that I don't want them adjusting the door is because before the window regulator was replaced there was no wind noise at all. After the regulator was replaced the wind noise started. I don't think that they had to mess with the door alignment to replace the regulator did they? If not then why should they have to adjust the door? Seems to me that the dealer just doesn't want to put in the time it takes to adjust the window correctly. I am taking it back to the dealer today for the THIRD time and this time I am going to take a ride in the car with the mechanic once he is complete to make sure it is fixed!
