Put your left foot on the brake and your right foot on the clutch. Get a stick long enough to reach the gas pedal with your left had. and shift with your right. Get you revs up to @3000 by pressing on the gas pedal with the stick, then quickly take your right foot off the clutch. DO NOT take your left foot off the brake!!! This method you will have to practice alot. All the guys with low et's use it at the strip
if you have stock wheel/tire, try about 2500 RPM (more if you just want to do burnouts). There is no way to explain it... if you're stalling, you need to get into the throttle a little faster, and/or let out the clutch a little slower.
Or you can follow the post above and use your hand on the throttle
I fair question. I had the same experience, with my first Vette 3 months ago.
First thing is don't be afraid of the car and let her rip. I was treating it like a regular car and trying not to abuse it. Abused is relative and the Vette is designed for some.
Bring your revs up to say 2000 and let the clutch out quick, don't just drop the clutch but bring your foot off fast! The more revs the closer to burn out you will be. You will have to adjust the revs for the road and the tires.
If sounds like you are having enough wheel spin to kick in the traction control, which cuts power and feels like it is bogging down. Hold down on the "button" for about 10 seconds until the Info center reads "competitive driving"
For Heaven sakes don't disingage the handling safetys!!
If you are not sure bring the revs up to 3000 do a burn out and you will lose your inhibitions

thanks bunch in advance!!!
Come on over to my place, I will show you in YOUR car how to do PROPER burnouts and pop the clutch so you leave about 3000 miles worth of tread on the street. The burnout will be so long you could measure it in meters instead of feet!!!
Stalling? Do you have the TC on? If you are stalling your car you should definately not be racing.....please.
stupid me!!! i didn't even know i could turn the Tranction on/off!!! no wonder i got that feeling that i was being forced to stall!!! *excuse excuse* i got that feeling of being dragged or somethin and gas won't properly response...
ok! thanks! i'm going drivin tonight with the T/C OFFFFFF!!!
not that you want another thread from me, but i'll post the result tomorrow morning or even tonight after driving! :

Just watch the News tonight folks! You might see a story about a Vette that does some incredible trick "while the driver was trying to do a burnout." I hope you're careful John.

John DID IT, we all saw him do it. A few forum members while attending the Jack78 memorial this weekend talked John through his first burn out. It was wonderful. The first one was lots of smoke and a good size burn out. The third was my favorite, it was really long and lots of tire rubber spent. GOOD JOB JOHN!!!

Hey congrats on your first burn-out Each burn out costs 100 each=tires,, also consider your clutch if you decide to do daily burnouts,,your 100 figure could end up going up a little new clutch=$$$
