Although I live 90 miles from the Gulf, we are getting tied down for IVAN. Got the C5 in the garage and pulled the C4 into the shop last night. We are expected to have 90 mile an hour gusts tonight and I get to spend it locked down here at work. The traffic here is horrendous as everyone is fleeing Gulfport and Biloxi from one direction and the Interstate is full of New Orleans traffic. It was bumper to bumper at 6:00 AM this morning. Here's to hoping everyone in Ivan's path remains safe.
Making sure to tie everything down here in Meridian as well. They are forecasting 75 to 80 mile an hour winds here. Hope everyone on the coast and in mobile took heed of the evacuation notices. Be safe gang...
I live in Mobile and it looks like this storm is gonna come right down on top of us Spent the last two days boarding everything up and stocking up on supplies.
I'm glad I don't have to leave my area though because, like you said, the interstates around here are pretty clogged. Folks are leaving like rats fleeing a sinking ship
In a couple of days it will all be over and life will get back to normal. I just hope the electricity doesn't stay down too long afterwards...it's damn hot down here.
I have to go back into work very early. We are manning the emergency opperations center at the Central Fire Station here in Meridian. I hope everyone on the coast is safe. Hunker Down Ivans a coming!

Good luck as it looks like it is headed into Mobile now. We are barely getting any wind and rain as of 10 pm.
I live in central Alabama and we're expected to get sustained winds of 70+mph where I live along with power outages. I have the C5 inside the garage and the cell phone and laptop batteries charged, prepared for power outages.
