Default Chrome vs. Polished Wheels

If you could trade your chrome or painted wheels for a set of Commerative, Z16 Wheels (polished alloy I think??), would you? Why or why not? Thanks.

I'd trade my painted Z06 wheels for Z16 wheels in a heartbeat. I think they look great and are lighter than chrome wheels.

FWIW, West Coast Corvettes has a trade-in program where you give them your Z06 undamaged wheels and 750 bucks, and they'll give you stock GM Z06 wheels that have been chromed to their supposedly high standards. That way you get chrome AND light Z06 wheels.

I wouldn't trade my stock wheels, but I definitely want a set of Z16s.
I'm going to buy a set from GM if they ever become available. I think
you can only get them now if you're a Z16 owner.

Default power coating

i went with chrome power coat (not chrome plated), over original wheels. have only had them on about 3 months, and so far, so good. they look every bit a good a metal chrome, but they have a very slight tint to them - you have to set them next to regular chrome to tell the difference. i tried to get z16 wheels, but gm had some constraint on them, or some crap like that. l got the power coating thru motomotion in medina, ohio

The single most effective mod I have made on the car was to put chrome Z06 wheels on it. The difference between the shiny chrome and the grey painted variety is literally day and night. They transform the car dramatically. Easier to keep clean, in my opinion, than the grey wheels and the difference in weight is imperceptible in performance. The polished Z16 wheels are a better compromise than the grey wheels and not as bright as the chrome; all a personal taste decision.

YES!!!

That's exactly what I did! Well, I didn't trade, but I did buy a set of OEM Z16 polished wheels.

Chromes are the way to go, but to each his own!
