Bought my 01 in June 03, it had 14,400. I drive it almost daily from May- Sept and I just turned 25k today I suppose if I lived in the South it would pretty much be a daily driver, but I can't stand the thought of driving the vette in snow/salt.
I do drive it in the rain, and suprisingly enough, it hasn't melted yet
Bought my '02 Coupe with only 4200 miles on it...less than 2 months later I have almost 6100 miles on it with just driving it on the weekends to cruise around town.
Looking forward to really driving when I go up to Chicago to show it off to all my family and friends.
Was my daily driver, but now I have my pickup to drive to work since my wife got a new SUV. I drive it at least 4 days a week, two of those to work - 20 miles round trip.
Maybe this is a dumb question, but is it really bad for your car to drive in the rain? Isn't direct sun as harmful as having rain sit on your car? I guess one argument would be that a 'properly' waxed car would be able to survive rain exposure with 0 impact to the underlying paint.
Just curious. I have always driven my cars in the rain but then I live in Oregon and it is not like I have alot of options!
My vert is driven every day. The coupe is starting to be reserved for the strip and an occasional blast down the on ramp or trip to D.Q. on gawk night.
i drive mine on weekends or after work. about 3500 miles a yr. its a 97 i bought it at carlisle last yr it had 33,100 on it and now it has 36,800 on it.
Mostly a weekend driver but is does see the street ocassionally during the week. Mileage wise I'll probably be in the same boat as you.
Except for the mileage, I think I've put more than that per year but until my daily car dies, then this will become a my daily... knock on wood though. Vette will need new tires soon!!!
Let see...
Nisan tires - set of 4 - about $120
Vette tires - set of 4 - from 1K - $1,500
My insurance company says one car can only have 7,500 miles on it per year for the "pleasure car" discount. Since I got my new vette, I drive it everyday and everywhere so it looks like the old Avenger will be the "pleasure car" from now on.

Right now it's my daily driver. I think of excuses of places to go so I can drive it. Got it May 30 and have put on about 5,000 since then.
I do plan on getting a beater for the winter...it rains a lot up here and snows at times and I want to keep it clean and dry during those months. But you bet it'll be out and about whenever the sun comes out.
Because of the nature of my job and the commute/parking/security situation, I don't get to drive it as much as I would like. But I do manage to put on about 3500 miles a year. I've had Vettes since '78 and my average yearly milage has been consistent.
Most days, I drive the vette to work. If its nasty, the Jeep Renegade. Its nearly exactly 6 miles one way to my office. I bought the vette in June and have about 1750 miles total now.
