Is this an updated rotor for the vette or is it just the wrong rotor? It doesn't
look anything like the rotor in this pic:

The one on the red car has a much smaller hat and bigger disk. The one I got is
the opposite.
Is the Hat Aluminum or steel? It should be steel for the E-brake

Just replacing the rotors (not including painting the calipers), I would say it's probably
on par with an exhaust install. The fronts are easy since you can turn the wheels to
make room for a breaker bar to undo the caliper bolts. For the back, you have less
room... you'll have to raise the car high enough to make room for a breaker bar
to undo the bottom caliper bolt. The top bolt is not that much harder to loosen.
Process wise, it's simple... it's just a matter of unbolting a few bolts, pulling the
old rotors out, putting new ones in, then puting the bolts back in and torqueing them
to proper specs.

A Baer tech has just informed me, via Shaw@lapd, that the hats are aluminum.
They also said the rotors are an updated version and are the correct rotors.

So noone else has these updated version of the rotors? Am I the only one?
Did I end up with a beta rotor? Anybody????

I think you should talk to Baer. I can't see how the rear rotor hat can be Aluminum and last with the E-brake.
Did they have any idea why they don't fit??
I do like the look of the new rotor!!

Just spoke with a couple of Baer techs. I'm going to ship the rotors
back to baer so that they can check them out. But from the phone
conversation, they said everything checked out on the rotors. They're
not sure why they won't fit. The rotors definitely look cool... too bad they
won't fit.

So the E-brake hat is now Aluminum?
Keep us informed. I'll have to get a set if they workout.

Here's part of the email I got from Baers:

"The rotors he got are right, we have a running production change and the new
rotors have a larger hat for looks (and now they are all aluminum). Due to
the size of the rear calipers there was no need to have such a large cheek
area on the rotor, so we made the rear hats larger."

All aluminum now I guess.

So does noone else have these updated rotors yet???
