Drove the C6 for a day Keeping the C5

Thanks for the good review. I can't wait to test drive the C6. I'm sure I'll like it -but just doesn't do the same thing for me as the C5 style-wise. I like the C5 curves. Sexy.

yeh .. i finally sat in one today, looked around, etc. etc. ... all i've got to say is, I'm keeping the c5. The c6 targa does nothing for me.
Although I do love the new orange color. for that.

I too have to agree with your observations... My gut instincts were correct when I decided on my 04'. Recently I was able to see a C6 in person at my local dealer. Over all I was not impressed especially with the price tag, $59000!($5000 of which was posted as a competitive market price). Who knows? Perhaps in the future I may appreciate the C6 more. I remember feeling this way when the last camaro body style came out ("...a Geo Storm on steriods"). I ended up owning three of them since 95'.

An honest review. From what I see, the C6 is a "mixed bag." All depends on what you want out of a car. The C5 was a revolutionary design for sure. I expect the C7 to be far better, the car we all must have.

When i returned the car it had 300 kilometers on it today i went back and it was sold the guy is picking it up tommorrow. A freind of mine is going to buy the orange one and is putting the deposit on it later today. Good advertising for the dealer i would say.

It's what I thought all along...the C6 styling team really couldn't improve on the C5's sleek lines...so they made a stab at it and really missed the mark.
All GM had to do was offer the LS2 in the C5 body...(maybe change the interior a little...gives us the 18 and 19 inch wheels...and they would have had a winner).

Great review. I wish my dealer would let me drive one for a day. I guess they need to get one first.

I had a C4 and when I drove the C5 I thought I died and went to Heaven. I'm 6'3" 230 and the C5 is much more comfortable. The cockpit of the C6 was not supposed to have lost any room ( this is what I read) Physically its shorter and looks smaller. I saw one Saturday and thought it was a Viper from the front. (was not impressed). One of the reasons I went to the C5 from C4 was for room. I'll have to see for myself.
