Default Difference between 2001 and 2004?

Mechanical, performance or appearance? Looking at low mileage 2001(8000 miles) for around $29000 at a dealer. Any help would be appreciated.

I know the adjustable ride is different between the years f45 for the 2001 and f55 for the 2004.

The was a post a few weeks back with a list of all the changes

Several changes between the '00 and '01's were noted on another post a few days ago.

Only changes between '01 and '04, as noted earlier, are the suspension control...some sort of magnetic ride control.

Also, many of the "options" on the '02 model became standard on the '03 and '04.

Then there was the introduction of the Z06 I believe in '02. I know I'll be corrected if I'm wrong.

The one thing you need to watch out for in 2001 is oil consumption. In 2001 GM went with a thinner ring and under heavy footed driving conditions the 01s eat a lot of oil. GM determined the oil eating was not really harmful to the motor more of a nuisance then a harmful problem. They did however re ring the cars if consumers complained. You can ask the dealer to run the cars warranty repair history this would be helpful and you could also see if a former owner had the re-ring job done. Hope this helps.

HP numbers are the same (350). Appearance is the same except for some color options (interior and exterior). Like was mentioned above, watch the '01's for oil consumption.
