Default Driver's Door Lock

Lately I have noticed that my driver's door doesn't want to lock either automatically or by pushing the electric lock button. It works intermitently and if i push the lock button numerous times, it will lock. I thought I might try and remove door panel to locate loose electrical connection. Does anyone know if there are connectors under door panel that may be the problem or had this issue themselves?

Thanks

Most likely it is the door control module located inside the door. This seems to be a common failure part now. You can replace it yourself easily. GMpartsdirect.com may have the best price on a new one.

The dealership replaced mine under warranty. Apparently, a faulty driver's door lock module can also cause strange things to happen with the passenger side lock mechanism. (At least, that's what the dealership service manager told me.)

You didn't say if your car was still in warranty, but this is a common problem.

Just had my 02 locks fixed under warranty. Started with passenger side and eventually to the drivers door. I removed the door panels to investigate, I quickly closed everything up and decided to have the dealer do it. Things are very different compared to what I expected in our doors. Although I hate taking my car to the dealer, It's under warranty let them handle it.

Just had mine fixed today under warranty.
If you have a warranty use it. If not, do like the other have said and get a new module.
