this should probably go in off topic but i just want to rant.
i got that CD a few weeks back that the auto show in motion was coming to las vegas thursday (9/16) through sunday (9/19). hey, cool! i can check out the c6, XLR, GTO, etc. the S/O wanted to check out the H2 also. so i go on the site and check out the schedule. since she normally gets a day off in the middle of the week, i figured we could set it up to go in thursday and check stuff out while it wasn't that crowded. she arranged to take thursday off and i cleared my schedule for that morning.
per the recommendations on the site, i confirmed that we wanted to come in thursday morning at 9:30. the site confirmed my "reservation" at 9:30, thursday the 16th.
so come thursday morning we get up and make the drive up to the las vegas motor speedway. we park and go into registration. then we're told, "oh, i'm sorry. the show isn't open to the public until 1 p.m."
well, WTF is that??? there was nothing on the site at the time i registered about not being open to the public until 1. and if that's the case, why did it let me register for 9:30? is that a webmaster **** up or what? now, we drive all the way back home and she has this day off in the middle of the week but i had scheduled work for that afternoon thinking we'd already be done. we both have to work full days friday and saturday and then i came down with some kind of funk (flu, probably) so i was all screwed up yesterday (and still today).
so lot of good that did.
needless to say, i'm not impressed with 'auto show in motion'. if you have received the 'auto show in motion' CD and you plan to go, just keep this in mind. you may want to be really flexible with your scheduling.

I went to the Show when it was here on Long Island NY. It really stinks... First day is for Press only ... The rest of the time if you are lucky ..you get about a minute or 2 in a vehicle. I drove the H2 and the Vette....at the time they didnt have the C6 out. I had to drive with one of their associates.... I didnt enjoy myself. It was a big waste of time. You are better off going to the dealer and getting a test drive!
JD, if i had the whole day off, i would have just been a little perturbed but i never would have posted this thread. granted, it's not their fault i caught a bug and couldn't go yesterday, but as far as i can tell, i did everything right. ah well, i'm not boing to be buying any new cars for a year or two anyway. by then, if i want to go drive a GTO or c6, i'll just go to a (yuck) dealership.
I got one in the mail last year. Got all excited and went (took a sat. off) and got there to find out you need to be 21 to frive any of the cars.
why the hell did you invite me
funny update: checked the mail today and apparently sometime between friday and this morning i received an 'updated' invitation that shows the 1p.m. time. figures.
I went to the event at LVMS on Friday at about 9:30, and had a great time. It was worth the trek from Henderson to drive the C6; everything else was gravy.
Before it came to Sacramento I got a reservation for 10:30 the first day, no problems. Maybe they didn't have time for the press out here.
I tested a lot of cars + the C6 + the SSR, I was there for longer than I thought, I was there for 4 hours. Had a great time. The SSR was a real let down though.
