Hey everyone, thanks for all the great replies and ideas! Those flameball ***** are wild. How do those things power up for night-time illumination?

As for my original 4 choices, I'm leaning towards the black leather. But holy crap, for 22 bucks that red Momo Color King is pretty cool too. I may spring for that and Momo shorter boot at the same time. The boot threads directly onto the shift **** making for a nice clean look.

Thanks again, and I'll definitely order from LTB once I make a decision. I only posted that other link because it had all 4 ***** in the same picture.

I tapped into power using the light on the traction control. Power wire goes to the red (I believe) power wire and the ground goes to the brown (ground switch) wire (that I am sure of). When you turn on the parking lights or headlights, it lights up. It also looks wild when you unlock the car and it lights up. I went with the LED light as an additional option.

Default How about the new Pontiac GTO ****?

Maybe this is a bit off, but I LOVE the shift **** from the new GTO.
Has anyone tried to put one of these in the vette?
It seems you can even get it with a red sticking on black leather..and the shift patern is the same as ours.

I love the "stock" look, I just cant stand the stock shifter that comes with our cars. IT seems so 80s!

I cut my shifter down also. I just ordered a flameball. Not the flame, light up at night variety. Just a plain solid color ball. They come in a variety of colors. What I like about the flameball is there is no collar on it to add overall height. I threaded the rest of the shaft down to where the damper flare starts and I will be able to screw the flameball all the way down to the flare. That will make a nice short throw but retain the stock ease and smoothness. The plain flameball with stock brass threading was only $28 shipped. I should have it in about a week.

Hi THEDVS1 -

I know you probably already ordered your ****, but have you seen the carbon fiber know from Callaway? It's a bit spendy, but it looks and feels so good -

best regards -

hi Cruncher -

I tried to search for one but I could not find it on the Callaway web site - only an aluminium one -

I saw them at St. Charles for the gold -

It is just a round titanium-grey colored carbon fiber shift **** - with the 6 speed shift pattern in silver. They were $98 at St. Charles.

I apologize - I'll keep looking for a link.

best regards -

Out of that group, I like the leather or the mahogany, I wonder which one feels best in your hand when you shift?

Another vote for the MGW; I have a pistol grip and gripper and like them both (personal preference is the gripper).

I tried several other ***** w/ my Hurst and they all rattled. Not the MGW's.
