I went out this morning to move my Vette and the fob didnt work. So i use the key to open the door, get in and my car is totally dead. I go in the garage and get the charger, hooked it up and heard a "click". keep in mind i still havent plugged the charger in yet, i only hooked it to the battery. So i get back in the car and it fires right up. What could have been happening?
If you have a stock Delco battery then I would seriously consider replacing it. They are know to go bad virtually instantly, and some of them are known to leak - considering they are mounted right above some critical wiring and electronics, this is not something you want.
The most recomended replacement is an Optima (red top)

Sounds to me like a loose connection at the battery. Maybe when you touched it, it adjusted itself enough to work.
I had this happen on pace1...the first time, I had a friend drive me all the way home to get a jumpbox...came back and it didn't need it...happened 2 or 3 times in 6 months...was strange and probably needed a new cable somewhere, but I never got around to fixing it...

Run, don't walk, to your local auto supply store and get your Optima Red-top battery.
About the same thing happened to me last month...without warning, my '02 coupe wouldn't start. They are a little pricier than other batteries, but well worth the peace of mind of having the best.

I agree that it could be a loose connection somewhere. If you check this out and it is not the problem, replace the battery with something like an Optima Red Top. Good batteries and they are designed not to leak like the stock Delco batteries.
