Default The Learning Channel Ford Concept Car

Just wonder if anybody caught the last "Rides" program with the new Ford Shelby Concept car debut. This design is smokin. I have to say If they bring this car out at an affordable price GM better quite literally get it in gear!

Yes I watched that show. I enjoyed it ALOT. It was way cool watching 4 guys work 6 weeks on the clay mock up model. I agree that if the price is 60k or under, GM better look out.

I did see this as well. It is amazing how they go about the design. I also agree, that if the Shelby gr1 is under $60,000 GM will will have its hands full. Somehow, I doubt it will be under $60,000 with the name Shelby attached.

I would assume that it will price between the cobra and the GT. I bet it slides in right between the Vette z06 and the Viper price wise.

IMO it will be a car to watch.

I'm not sure I like the way the rear tires flare out so wide?

How many think the C6 should have had that kind of look? I think it's pretty sharp looking.

Does it seem that Ford is finally understanding the consumer? I can't speak much about their current daily driver type cars but the Cobra and now this concept car not only get the gawkers' appeal but it also opens people's cheque books for a deposit. GM management better not be sleeping well at night - they have Toyota wanting to be number 1 and now Ford is drawing people in with their new vehicles.

Saw the show, and yes, its a beauty IMHO, but my guess would be more like $80k unless it comes with the 4.6 or 5.4. Don't know where they got that screwy looking grill from.

Let's see - Ford's latest concept, debuts at Pebble Beach, Carroll Shelby is there with his name on the car -- oh yeah, this will go for less than $60,000. Ford can get $150K for the GT- this new car will not be any less than $100K - $150K - more likely the later depending upon the power - which wasn't mentioned in the show.

With the folks disenchantment over the looks of the C6, Ford has an opportunity here...I'm sorry to say!

Why do people insist on putting pictures of other cars on here, that are the Vette's competition???

You guys are dreaming...have you ever priced out a Carroll Shelby Series 1. I've seen them as high as $175,000 and a 1999 used one for $110,000. Shelby America Inc isn't into mass marketing, they'll make a high performance car for a select few that can afford it.

If it wasn't for the Ford Thunderbird you wouldn't be driving a Corvette. Competition is a good thing!
