I was looking at Gregg Smith equipment for a 4 post lift. I'm also checking out other lifts. This outfit has what's called a propac 7, I think some of the other vendors has the same thing just add zero's, like 7000. Anyway they have this listed for 2K and if you order now you get, free 3 oil pans , and a set of wheels. Has anyone ever heard of them, there web site is gregsmithequipment.com,thanks Jim.
Jim, I just received my Eagle SS-7000 lift yesterday. Took three hours with the help of four friends to get it completely unloaded and put together. It appears to be about the same as the Propac 7. $2,000 with free wheels, jack tray and casters is a pretty good price, but you need to look at delivery price and I would recommend the aluminum ramps also as they are much lighter. I got mine delivered with aluminum ramps, casters, three drip trays and a jack tray for $2,750, which was a pretty good price. Only had mine one day but did an oil change on the Z06 already and have got the two Corvettes in one parking spot.
I did a lot of shopping before I bought a lift. I really felt better with the collared post design of the Backyard Buddy. Very pricey, buy very well built - you can tell a real difference when the are set up side by side at a show.
Gregg Smith is a first rate operation and you'd probably be happy with them as well.
Jim, just to let you know I have a Backyard Buddy and like Matt69-Z06 I did a lot of comparing before I bought and was impressed with the collar enclosing the post on this lift.
I received and installed my Eagle 7000 lift a few weeks ago and highly recommend it for quality and ease of assembly. You need a couple of freinds to help unload it from the delivery truck and to assemble the heavy ramps onto the frames. Other than that, the assembly is fairly simple. You can preview the entire delivery and lift assembly operation on the Eagle website (there is a 50-60 page manual with many photos).
Pricewise, Eagle is in the middle of the pack. I paid approx. $3000 for lift, delivery, jack bridge, aluminum approach ramps (these are a must!!), rolling oil changer, drip trays. So far, I've used the lift for an oil change and the skip shift eliminator install.
I looked at several models before selecting the Eagle. Eagle was recommended by several people at a recent Corvette show and it is featured on Horsepower TV. The Eagle brand name has been around for awhile. Other models on my short list were: Backyard Buddy(most expensive), Autolifters (cheapest), Revolution/Rotary (was a strong #2). If you are interested in the collared design of the Backyard Buddy, check out the Autolifters (they copied the Backyard Buddy). I don't think you could go wrong with any of these models. The Gregg Smith lift is probably made by BendPak. There is much similarity across brands/models, the biggest difference being the collared or non-collared column design. Good Luck!!!

We did the same, and felt the same. I've had the BB lift for around 3 years now and it is the best item I ever bought for the garage.
Not trying to steal the thread, but this might help anyone considering a lift....
What are you guys using to jack up the car on the lift? I'm not too keen on the bottle jack idea, plus two of my cars sit very low. I often use my floorjack and lower the car onto the lift and place jack stands under it and go back up! I'm too cheap to pay the Backyard Buddy price for there rolling jack (Gregg Smith has one for ~700).
I had considered some kind of tranny jack, but didn't want to reinvent the wheel. If someone has a good solution, I'd love to hear it!
I bought a Revolution/Rotary lift. I compared them all and it was by far the highest quality lift I had looked at. Double-latch system, leveling ability, and thousands of installations in commercial garages accross the country.
I am looking at a Mohawk USL 6000 llift. Like the idea of moving the lift out of the way when I don't need it, also it is a scissor lift so that there is nothing in the center to crawl over when the car is in the air. Can also adapt the Harley to fit on it.
