Default Mods effecting warranty

Anyone had any problems with exhaust or intake mods effecting factory warranty? I'm thinking about a new intake and exhaust and wondered if anyone has wished they haden't made a change, based on a warranty situation. Thanks!

they can only void any part of the warranty that is directly affected by the modification...meaning they can't refuse to fix a defective clutch because you have a hurst shifter =), although a lot of dealerships will try to blame anything (and i mean anything) other than the car

general motors sells vara-ram induction systems and corsa exhaust systems right out of their accessories brochures on the showroom floor;so,i'm quite sure there'd be no issue with either of those two mods!

Many dealers will actually install these two options, so if the dealer installs them how could their be a problem?

If you check out the SEMA law it states that they cannot void warrenty on a car unless the aftermarket part directly caused the problem with the car. You are safe with mods like exhaust and intake. Kaley

Although I have not modified my Z06, my Chevy dealer has often bragged of a rather large range of performance modifications they can do without affecting the warranty. When in doubt, check with a dealer of integrity before making the mod.

Interpretation varies from dealer to dealer. When in doubt check with the performance dealer in your area. Also remember if the dealer sells the same mod they may not provide the response you like.

Also no matter what others say any performance mod, especially on the intake side can void your warranty if the dealer of the General so elect to do so. It is never black and white as others may have implied but extremely murky grey.
